FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Voxound?
Voxound is a song classification system that let's you select groups of songs that match certain attributes (like "britanic rock from the 80's" or "french romantic pop"). We've got an online version to find music and a downloadable version to help you build playlists upon you own collection.
Why would I want Voxound?
Because you have a music collection you'd like to explore in a better way. And you don't like to waste time making manual playlists.
Do I have to choose between Voxound and iTunes?
No! if you have an iPod you might probably want to keep iTunes to sync your device and that's perfectly ok. Voxound helps you with the playlists and the organization of your collection.
But, ¿Doesn't Genius do the same as you guys?
Genius automatically builds a playlist upon a song, but that's all. It won't give the possibility to explore your collection, or consider your thoughs in terms of which songs are similar and which are not.
If the software is free, and the online version is too, how do you earn any money?
Our main goal is that we all achieve a classification of songs, so that emergent artists can get famous for playing good music, and not for their marketing abilities. We think that if we achieve a good clasification, people will reach artists without having to know their name.
If people buy songs through us, we will earn a commission. Besides that, we might charge for an extra feature in the future.
